yesterday was my wedding anniversary, tbe first one since my husbands's death. Being alone without the person i pledged my life to is absolutely devastating. My mother recently asked me if I would ever have a boyfriend or marry again. One of the hardest things about being a widow is dealing with friends and family who think you should get on with your life and meet someone new. I can understand getting on with my life because I have. But dating and starting over is not that easy. Sure it may be somewhat easy to find a man to date but one that you want to dedicate your life to and put up with baggage and fall in love with? Not that easy.

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

Peace, ((hugs)) and eventually, happiness,
~John
