My husband lost his life on Aug 2016 we in 32 years has lived apart. My son is the only only one I` trust but here lately his girlfrend seems to be keeping him away from me. He woks at night and comes to my house to stay with with me even when my husband was alive. But know she demands all his time. He was coming to my house to stay the night not always but at least 3-4times a wee. Know even when she has her own house wih a roommate she is staying with my son who does live wih me but in family house close by but never stays their since my huband died. Know she wants for the last 3 days to stay with him in the place he usualy don't stay. I taold him to night I understand he wants to be with his girlfriend but he promise to stay with me I do't kno if he feels caught in the middle or what but I feels she is jealous of our relationship but I tell him to go bt I don't like it suggestions please

Don't apologize for typos. People can be so cruel, especially if they've never lost someone they loved more than anything.

I have learned over the last 3 years since Michael died that I have to rely upon myself. Our children suffer the loss with us but they have their own lives and that is right. Please don't make your son feel guilty. He is not choosing his girlfriend over you. You and the girlfriend have a different relationship with your son. He needs to grow in the relationship he has chosen but you will always be his mother. I'm sorry darling, it hasn't been a long time for you yet. You will learn to live on your own and you will be so surprised by how much you are able to do by yourself. You will survive my love. We all do. Big hugs

I am not sure what she is getting from treating you as though you are nothing to him. I think she must be jealous as well.Your son will see who she really is now at least.He sounds like my son..(( Hugs ))

Your loss is so fresh and you are "lost" in what you think, want, and do. It is common and actually "normal " after the loss we've shared. I remember yearning for our children to visit and then wishing they would leave me alone in my misery. I don't know how old your son is, but he is struggling also. He probably doesn't know how to deal with this and neither do we. His girlfriend may feel like a safe place for him, but she will never replace your love. I found writing my feelings on paper helps to keep thinking clearly. Wishing you the best. Sharon
