I have had similar comments made and I was so easily upset by them.

But, I try to remember that they are not in the same situation as me...and that before i joined this 'club' without choice...I may have made remarks that were insensitive to others without even being aware of it.

Now, I am more aware and try not to be so hypersensitve. time and healing does help that....but will never cure it.

Yesterday I was in a similar situation..out in public to register the three year old for preschool. The school director loudly said to me " where is your husband? I guess he has better things to do than get his child ready for school". My reply was that Mike is now residing in what you people call a "better place" and you can go out to Sacred Heart Cemetary and ask him if he has something better to do. I then took my little girl and left. I will find another school for her.

I would have said, "How blessed you are to have your husband out playing golf, remember to appreciate him..mine is in heaven and that is why I am here alone". Then I would have turned forward in my seat.

I like "Mine is playing golf in heaven with GOD, where did your's tee off" (insert smirk here)
