Hello all of you in our group.
I wish all of you strength and the ability to get through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without too much grieving. I know we ALL miss our closest loved one and everything has changed now.
My husband and I went to the city for Christmas for years when my parents were alive. Then it was just mom and we did it still, now it's my family and my husband wanted to stay home more often for Christmas. Since his grown kids wouldn't come to be with him/us at this time he usually wasn't too thrilled with the get togethers. Then finally his son came with his wife and one of their kids. It was great! I am so glad my husband had that Christmas with his son, it meant so much to him. He was just glowing with happiness.
Now I will like many of you, spend it with my/our siblings, nephews, nieces etc but my/our spouse is missing.
I will go visit my family and spend some time with them this Christmas and hope to keep my composure in tack. I am getting much better at it.
This makes now 2 birthdays, 2 Christmases and 2 New Years without my husband and he died 14 months ago.
He didn't make it to December of 2014.
So try to enjoy the company, because when we are alone it's so obvious we are ALONE and it's difficult. It's sad and it feeds our anxiety and our depression.
Again I wish all of you love and good friends and family and some time to try to be yourself again, at least for a while.

Nothing will ever be the same. Nothing smells, looks or feels the same. The joy seems to be melting into the sadness and they all look a like. Sometimes I find myself laughing and then I stop and think he will never laugh with me again. It's so sad it takes me to a whole other place.
This is my third Christmas without him. We loved the holidays and made New Years OURS!!!!! It belongs to us and ALWAYS will!
