I was given this poem today and wanted to share it with all my DS friend
as I cant help feeling that up until now my grieving was all about how I was feeling when maybe I should have thought about how Bill was feeling
The poem was given to me by my daughter who has just been to the funeral of her friends father , she did not know him but went along as her friend had came to Bill,s funeral. ( Her friend new Bill quite well )
I think this was meant to be as I feel like this is Bill,s way of sending me a message
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free
Miss me for a while - but not for long
And now, with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take
And each person must go alone
It,s all part of the master,s plan
A step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends you know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go
Maybe we should all heed these words and think of how our loved ones felt when the left this world

This was the exact poem on my Greg's remembrance card. I remember being in such a FOG then and looking through all the powems and sayings.....this one? JUMPED AT ME LIKE HE PICKED IT HIMSELF.

It just felt so right that I got this poem today as I have had Bill,s ashes in the house since a few weeks after he died and next Sunday is the day we planned to scatter his ashes in his home town.
So I guess I am letting him go, I did not get the chance to say goodbye to Bill when he died so maybe this is his way of telling me that this will be the time and place to say my goodbyes
