This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
This came from Rogers elderly Aunt who has been quite an inspiration to us after all she had been through in her life: husband suicide early on, sons death from cancer, and last yr a grandson who died in skiing accident. She was in the car with Roger when he had massive heart attack he slumped over in car and car went into corn field. She was not hurt.

She said your memories are for today but thinking of yesterday and its sadness like the sons suing me etc. leave behind.

What suffering this strong woman has seen. She has certainly developed wisdom and courage through her suffering. I'm glad she is in your life to encourage you!

She sounds like a lovely woman who has known great sorrow and had the strength of spirit to rise above it. Her advice to you is wonderful.

I love that poem. It perked me up to reality and if she can do it after all she's been though, why can't I. I going to try and live those words. I copied and pasted it on my facebook page. Is that o.k., with you?

I feel God puts certain people in our paths to help us through the really hard times in life. She's definitely in your life for a reason. Her words are so simple but are borne from terrible tragedy and pain. Stay close to her, she's here to help you through.

Her poem is very good. This little quote is very similar: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery; and today is a gift. That's why we call it the present." Each new day is an opportunity to seek courage and strength for our journey. Blessings - Doye

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
