This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I am in the habit of reading two daily devotionals that I have found quite helpful in dealing with the challenges I have been given lately. Every so often, there is an entry that begs to be shared with my friends here at DS. This morning, Max Lucado's "Grace For The Moment" offered one such entry:
"If you'll celebrate a marriage anniversary alone this year, God speaks to you.
If your child made it to heaven before making it to kindergarten, He speaks to you....
If your dreams were buried as they lowered the casket, God speaks to you.
He speaks to all of us who have stood or will stand in the soft dirt near an open grave. And to us He gives this confident word. "I want you to know what happens to a Christian when he dies so that when it happens, you will not be full of sorrow, as those are who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life again, we can also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him all the Christians who have died." (1 'Thess. 4:13-14 TLB)."
My hope is that those of you who are still in the throes of agony over your loss may find a measure of comfort in this message and by the accompanying song of faith by the late, great, Hank Williams.........All my best to you good friends this day....Joe...:-)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
He wept at the tomb of Lazarus, his friend...yet...He knew He would bring him out of the grave.
We are human, and thus we weep.
We are spirit, and thus we rejoice.
Stand upon His promises today. Weep in the night when you must, but remember...joy comes in the morning!

I believe where there is belief there is always hope. The Lord does not abandon us in our time of sorry if we just ask for him to help guide us through it.
