My life changed eight years ago today.  I woke up and you didn't.  The memories are just as vivid as they were that morning.  Waiting on emergengy services even though I knew that you had left me.  I miss you so much.  Like we discussed I have moved on with my life.  It just isn't as happy as it could be.  There will always be a void.  As much as I've tried.  As hard as I have worked. It just isn't the same.   I miss you so much.  I miss making you laugh.  I miss doing things for you.  Watching you work around your house.  Cooking together.  I miss making love to you.  Holding you in my arms and looking into your eyes and telling you how much I love you.  My life is not the same.  I have a lot to be grateful for and I am.  None of it replaces what we had.  I still love you and I always will.  I know that you can't tell me what your time in heaven has been like.  I can only imagine.  I know that one day in the future we will embrace each other forever.

I am only 8 weeks into this journey and club that I never wanted any part of (and never imagined it could happen to us). Everything you posted is so true! Does this pain never end?

I understand and watching my wife slowly die every day for the past 5yrs was the hardest thing to do. she passed away on 13th June 2018 from a rare cancer, but it still not easy, 4 weeks to 8 yrs, the person you love is missing and that is the hard part and it is all the things you did together, that you miss and even if you fill that spot of emptiness it isn't the same.
yes, every day is a step towards meeting them, but I know I have a long way to go before that day. All I hope is she is happy with what I have done.

Tough day bud, 8 years, huh. It just doesn't ever get easy, does it? Like you said, it will never be the same. We can only hope one day to be reunited. You've been great with advice for this new widower. I for one appreciate ya. Take care,

I was at four years February 11 and feel much as you do with still feeling the loss and missing Mike. That's great that you have moved forward with your life! I am still working on that part. ((Hugs))

What a beautiful tribute to love. I can’t imagine ever coming back to happiness. I miss my husband so very much.

Greenteam, I, too, passed the 8-year anniversary of my husband's passing in March of this year. The pain does subside, but the loss is still there. I am so thankful that I had 29 wonderful years; however, there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss what I had. We are lucky we found "the one." I look forward to the day that we are reunited.     Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...
