Today is a day I have been dreading. It would have been my love's 63rd birthday. He passed away in late April of this year. It will not be an easy day to get through, for sure, but I have tried to cushion it some. I am headed to work in a moment and then this evening going to a Blues concert in our local park with some wonderful friends who have been my support since this journey began. Betty

Hi Betty. All the firsts are hard. I cant speak to how any of the seconds feel yet because tomorrow 7/8/17 will be the one year mark that my Anne went into sudden cardiac arrest. 7/13/17 will mark the day we removed life support. Needless to say I'm not looking forward to the next 6 days. I'm sure I'll get through them as you will today. What other choice do we have? It's good you have friends to lean on during these trying times. The Blues are my favorite type of music. Im jealous!! ;-) Enjoy the show.

A friend suggested I plan something on days that were significant in our marriage.
I have taken that advice, helps to get thru the day more quickly.
Gone, but not forgotten...

It's wonderful to have such caring friends
We need support as we continue our changed journey

Thank you jdp. Your advice is what I have been trying to do. I can't begin to say enough good things about my family and friends who have been with me every step of the way. God has blessed me even in my sorrow and I am truly thankful. It doesn't mean that my heart does not still ache, but I know he would want me to live my life. I will see him again someday and we will rejoice.
