I'm 42 my first husband of 13 years committed suicide in 08, that sent me into a dark place. I had three kids to take care. I met a man a year later that had been through a similar situation, we clicked and was together 6 years, he passed away at the age of 43 of sudden cardiac arrest on August 14, 2015. I was holding his head in my lap when it happened and gave him cpr. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever seen. My children were there and they watched their second dad pass. Its been almost 4 months and I feel so, empty and lost. My friends try to help the best they can, but I hate to burden them because they really don't understand. I keep quiet and pretend I'm ok when I'm not.

Our friends want to be helpful to us, but unless they've lost a spouse, they just can't give us what we need, and after a short while they go on with their lives and expect us to do the same.
I don't know where I'd be If I hadn't found this site. Come here often to vent, just talk, ask questions, whatever you need. We'll be here for you.

My wife Amy was the sweetest, kindest, most generous soul I knew on this earth. She made me the man I am today and taught me much in life and in death.
All I can do is try and live the life I think she would want for me and to make her proud of my decisions in this new journey. I often wonder how I will make it without her.
I can't imagine dealing with this pain twice and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
You are not a burden here and know we do understand what you are going through.
Take care of yourself. ~Pete
My friends have went on with their lives and without my kids I don't know where I would be. My husbands friends were supportive in the beginning, but that changed fast one told me to get rid of all his things and not sit and stare at them than in the next breath asked if he could buy his things. A couple other friends asked me out. Really! Thats not a friend.
Most days I don't leave the house which I know is not good for me, I just don't know what to do with me. Jason, was my best friend I'm angry he was taken from me, I sometimes feel like its my fault like I cause them to die. How many people my age have lost two spouses? I get upset that I don't dream about him, I wish he would just tell me he's ok and that he's with his little girl. I feel he's mad at me because I didn't save him.
I miss him so much my heart hurts.
