Firstly, sorry for the loss of your husband, but secondly welcome.
I too lost my wife 6 months ago and came upon DS whilst trying to find answers and support during the early dark days. I found it very comforting to share true feelings with those people who 'get it' Some of the discussion topics are very commonly experienced issues, which we feel alone in dealing with, but the advice and support does help. First, I am sorry for your loss and also welcome you to the group. I find the comradity and support here a major source of comfort and encouragement. I lost my husband to lung cancer in 2007 and have remained here to give myself purpose in helping others, like me, who are devastated by the loss of one they hold dear.
The loss of a spouse involves loss of our life as we planned. And I hope you continue to find comfort here. Sharon

I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your husband. I also lost my husband 6 months ago to a sudden heart attack. He was 62 and had just retired. I found this site shortly after his death and came to it often before joining. Everyone here is on the same journey and we understand what you're going through. The loneliness I felt was so overwhelming. The guidance and comfort of the members continue to help me through these trying times. I hope we can help you on this journey too.

My sincerest sympathy is to you. I joined DS yesterday, Don passed 2 months ago, I am still on a Roller Coaster of Emotions, I cry uncontrollably at times it surprises me how much hurt you have when your world seems to have crumbled when you loose a part of yourself. Don was everything to me. After reading many post here, sure helps because each of us are experiencing new feelings we didn't know existed.

hello...I am so sorry you lost your husband. I can relate. I lost my john to a sudden heart attack in july. he was just 42. its been nearly 9 months and I miss him terribly. its hard being in love with someone and not being able to see him. but our 2 year old and 7 month old keep me on the move. I am glad you found this site.

Hi like so many I have lost the love of my life and soulmate.. Kate passed away in a lovely Scottish Hospice, surrounded with the family... Kate bravely fought cancer for two and a half years.... I was so proud of the way never gave up until the last minute.. I am devastated and now feel lost and alone without purpose...but I must remember Kate fought hard to stay with my son and I ever so bravely...and so I must find the same strength to go on..for my sons sake, as Kate wanted... life is a cruel place...I so miss my darling Kate..

I am very sorry to hear of your husband's passing, and I am glad that you have found this site. I am just a little further into my grief; Sam passed away as the result of a tragic accident 8 months ago today (details in my single journal entry), but life continues to be a roller coaster of emotions. I do believe that things get better ... albeit very slowly.

Please visit DS often! The people here have offered me insight and understanding that I could get nowhere else. I hope that will happen for you as well.
