6 months update

Good morning, Its been 6 months since my wife was called home. I still have some questions that I don't understand, but I'll probably never know why God took her home and I'm okay with that. March 31st we would have been married for 8 years, and that was a hard day, but I made it through. I can remember the first couple days, weeks, and months and how I didn't want to live anymore, but that has changed.  I have to wait for God to call me home and I'm ready. I still think of her everyday, but something has began to change a little. It's almost like I can feel her persence with me. In the past, I hated to fall asleep, because when I awoke the hurt would start anew again and it was so painful. But now I can feel her presence, I'm doing a little better, but I still have my bad days.

All the special days seem harder then the everyday feelings of grief...My husband will be gone one year this month...I still have bad days but I have days thats. ok...You just got to roll with it...I always have journaled during bad times..I couldn't about my husband till tonight...I am glad you can feel her presence...That must bring some comfort...As Christians our faith helps us...You and your wife's story is not over...We miss spending time with them and doing all the things we did as a couple...They are part of us.....Keep sharing...

Hi Christopher. Yes, we all have a lot of questions that won't be answered this side of eternity. All I could figure out was that my Juani had finished her race. Seems all my detours have had me running in circles and ditches. So it is taking me a lot more practice to get it right so I too can cross that finish line at the end of my race :) Anniversaries are tough. I've got our 33rd coming up, nearly 3 years without her. I can vouch that grief messes us guys up big time. We ain't nearly as tough as them women folk are. But don't fret none, it all gets better with time. That is the only thing that works for us. Promise. Scott

I'm so glad you are starting to heal. It does take time and there are many ups and downs, but He really does turn our mourning to joy and remake a life of beauty out of the ashes. I am so happy that you have God to guide you through this.

So glad you are feeling your wife's presences and it seems to be bringing you some healing. I hope you continue to do better.

Christopher, I’ve only been a widow for 2 months. It’s hard, I feel my husband is still with me, not in the flesh but in spirit.
Knowing he is not suffering and in a better place helps.
You and I will never get over our loss but we will get thru this in time. Gentle healing hugs. Judy

What does it mean that you can feel her presence. I wish I could the presence of my husband, its been almost a year and all I feel is lonely. I am glad you can feel the presence, I wonder sometimes if I can't feel anything. Knowing they ware with you must bring you comfort-I am glad you know they are still surrounding you.

Christopher, It has been just 10 weeks since losing my Brenda and I know what you mean by feeling her presence. Many times now things happen that I can only explain are from her. When I am online I often pull one of her old bathrobes over my shoulders to ward off a chill and that feeling she is there rushes over me. We were together for 43 years and those times mean so much to me to feel that she is there if only in spirit.

    Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...
