6 MONTH'S TODAY

Thank you, CL's and DS! Today it is 6 month's since Don's passing. It seems like yesterday-the grieving process has been up & down each day. I frequent and read the daily post and replies each of you have posted, sometimes I reply, but often I do not, because it is as thou I could've written them. We are all experiencing the very same emotions, days of being on a "Grieving Roller Coaster". It has been slow, but IM getting thru the days with your help. Last night a good neighbor came here and we lighted a Prayer candle and he recited a prayer in Hebrew, (he is Jewish). It was the second time we've done this- the first was after Don's passing. The experience is very comforting, and am thankful for him in doing this deed in memory of Don. Again, Thank you all for the guidance and knowing IM going to be OK and that IM not alone. I'm approaching 6 months the 25th of this month. I fnd the roller coaster most unnerving. One day we are pretty OK, the next down at the bottom again. Hope it will end someday. Hugs to you.

Thank you, I am doing OK, just taking my time, but I feel I have come a long way in 6 month's. Sharon IM much better when Bike's pass me and think of good memories that bring a smile, as you and your Don who rode Bikes too and was effected the same way. Thank you for your support. . It is funny how the mind works and how it is so easy to dwell on the last days of our loved ones. I catch myself doing the same thing. What has helped me is to focus on the beautiful moments that Mike and I shared. When I am feeling sad I think of the first day I saw his face, our first kiss, or are our fist I love you. It really helps to focus on the positive memories. My friend who lost her husband several years still grieves her first husband at times and knows that the pain of his loss will live in her forever. The majority of the time, however, she just takes the time to remember the sweet times and it brings her peace.

It's strange how and what we think isnt it? I went out today for a few hours and when I got home I expected him to be here with a cup of tea waiting for me, as he usually did. Sometimes i think I'm ready for the Funny Farm. Its 4 months for me and it feels like yesterday. It's fathers day here in Australia and our child ( grandaughter) made him a card and bought a block of chocolate for her and dad.Plus every man we saw out today she wished happy fathers day to. I will light a candle today also. Val

I lost my husband of 35 years ( we were together for 38) unexpectedly 10 days ago. It is the most unbelievable pain I have ever felt. All I do is
cry or feel lost and alone. I found this site by accident in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and was comforted to have a place where others could actually understand what I'm going through. I hope that everyone here gets some peace from the support of others. Hugs to you.

I'll be thinking of all of you today who are approaching an anniversary date. It is such a roller coaster - not just day to day but sometimes hour to hour. I can have a good time talking with a friend about things other than my husband, get off the phone still smiling and soon find that same sad, bereft feeling is still right there. Good luck to us all.

The grief comes in waves. I think I'm okay, and then something triggers a memory and I just start crying.

Today's 9 weeks since my husband passed, 63 long days.
It's still so raw.

I'm so glad I found this site, everyone has been do supportive and kind.

Soalone, 10 days for you, IM so sorry for your loss and my sincerest sympathy to you. Don and I were married 47 yr's it would've been our 48th on 7/7/14. When he passed I felt like I was in a Fog, Daze etc. (No words to describe the loss). Coffeeforme, I do the same thing, I think DS has a name for this called (Roller Coaster) effect, and many have it from time to time. Janie, memories are what's left, IM finding I can smile and laugh a lot more and have improved a lot in 6 months. IM getting better. We need each other to remind us our feeling are OK. DS is a good site. I thank each of you and HUGS to each of you. Phyl

    My mom passed away on June 18th. I was her cargiver and only child. Although she was 89 years young and it was "expected" I don't know how to BREATHE without her. I stay busy throughout the day but I can only do that so long until I burn out! I'm all alone now and don't know what I'm going to do!! I can only fake it for so long. I'm TIRED of losing my people!!!!
