I just joined Daily Strength. I have been following this support group for the last few weeks and it has given me strength. My husband passed from cancer five weeks ago. It was a rough nine months and when I look back, a big blur of frantic activity. My heart is broken. I joined two support groups and it helps to be around other ladies who are experiencing such major grief. My husband passed at home, and we had hospice for the last month of his life. I always thought I would go first since he was so healthy and strong, lived a clean lifestyle, worked out, ate healthy, never smoked. Cancer brought him down fast with an initial stage iv diagnosis. Brought me to my knees with grief. He had spinal chemo, radiation, Tarceva, and for five months a feeding tube. The images of my once strong husband were decimated by cancer. He passed with me holding his hand while I watched him take his last breath. We were a solid couple, retired... we loved being together. There has been absolutely no joy in my life now and feel like I am just going through the motions. I am glad to be here.
