Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Warm hug
Now that he is gone, not only do you not have those interactions with him anymore, but you also have all that time you spent caring for him suddenly freed up.
It is an unusual feeling, as I can attest, and you go from full time personal attendant to suddenly only taking care of yourself.
It looks like you are doing all the right things, so just stay on course.
'I love this plan, I'm excited to be a part of it'.

Please accept my sincerest sympathy at the passing of your husband. The loss of a spouse or partner creates a profound grief unlike any you've ever known before.
Just yesterday, I attended my first GriefShare session. Although Sam passed away back in September, I was unaware of the GriefShare group that met a mere 7 or 8 miles from my home. I was so glad I found them. I hope your experience will be just as comforting.
Please come back here to DS often, even if it's just to read. DS has been my lifeline, and the people here have truly carried me on the days when I didn't think I could manage by myself.
Wishing you peace ...
Loss is a journey that totally blindsides the survivor. Even after the most thorough preparation, we are stunned at the rollercoaster of reactions and emotions that threaten to take us down.
By your post, it sounds as though you have availed yourself of every manner of support and assistance. I applaud your resourcefulness during such a chaotic time for you and your loved ones.
DS is an amazing place to be comforted, to vent, and to have the most difficult of questions discussed or answered by those who have started their journey some time before you.
Blessings to you as you. TJ
I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I do not thing that anyone really knows how to be a widow/er. You will learn that as you go down this new life journey. Some days I think I have widow hood down pat. Then bang something will happen and I think nope lets try again.
This is a good site to be with. Welcome
