I am new to the group and I want to introduce myself. My journey began 3 days after labor 2014. My wife Jeanne developed a cough that would not go away within a few weeks she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. her prognosis was less than a year and in reality she died 4 months after receiving her diagnosis. the last 10 months have been hell, from doctors telling us there was no hope, chemo treatments, ambulance rides to the hospital, funeral homes, cemeteries and therapist. We were lucky that we had four months to say goodbye, tell each other over and over again how much we love each other and finally her telling me that she was going home to Heaven and could not take me with her but she was going to wait for me with her arms waiting to hold me. As painful as this past year has been I am truly grateful for the blessings that we had to prepare for her passing. Both our faith and love for God and each other grew tremendously since she was diagnosed. Now I come home to an empty home and don't know how I am going to make it through each day. I am seeing a grief councilor that has helped. I look forward to talking with others who are on this journey of grief and loneliness to help me and hopefully I will be able to return the favor and offer some help to you.
