Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I'm new here. My husband passed suddenly on 10/20. I know how you feel and I think its ok if you stayed in bed for a day. Sometimes I wish I can stay in bed all day but I have so much to do. Have you talked to a therapists? I have and it was reassuring to hear that I'm not crazy and my thoughts are normal. Do you have children or pets? If so try to focus on them for a little while. I try to meditate too and use an app called Insight Timer which has guided meditations for grief. I try to practice the power of gratitiude every night by writing down 3 things I'm grateful for...simple things a walk, a cup of tea, taking care of paperwork etc. I also pray continously throughout the day and ask God and my husband for strength. I believe those we love remain with us in spirit.
There is no recipe for the proper way to grieve; there is no schedule or timetable for grieving; there are no right or wrong ways to grieve. Grief is a very individual and personal thing. The only right way to grieve is to do whatever you need to do at any given moment. One day at a time...
I'm sending you love, peace and hugs.
