At nearly six months I still can't listen to music? Every song I hear is a reminder of days gone by. I have found that all my senses seem to be so profound. I see things I didn't pay attention to before. The sights and sounds that were just ignored prior are now so acute. And music seems to reduce me to a blubbering idiot. I find myself listening to the words and sure enough something will set me off. Hope I can get through this and enjoy a song again. About the only thing I guess he and I didn't listen too was polkas and that rap crap. Think I would rather just have silence for now. Anyone else notice this? Hugs and Love to all, Michele

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

Like everything else, it will come in time when you are ready and then the same songs will bring you joy and only good memories again. But until that happens, if the song brings sadness - me, I don't want to go there. You might try other genres of music (I found a bluegrass station on satellite radio, and really enjoyed it the other day - it brought out the countryboy hick in me from growing up in rural Missouri. Classical is good and very soothing. Jazz and rhythm and blues. Who knows, you might even like opera. I guess my point is that you might try things the two of you never listened to and see if you might like something new and different. I do think music soothes our souls (except for, like you say, that rap crap). ~ Scott
I've also thought about taking up playing music again. Not sure if it will be good or bad.
