Today would have been our 38 anniversary. I feel so blessed by whomever that I was married to Larry. We had lovely life together. We raised 3 independent loving adults. Watched 3 grandsons grow into boisterous healthy fun loving boys. We traveled. I have enough to pay my bills and live in a comfortable house. I was lucky enough to be married to my best friend.Our life together was cut short by cancer, but in reading posts of other grieving people, we were so lucky to have known and loved each other for 40 years. I am trying so hard to count the blessings today. Hugs Patti

That's beautiful Patti! You and Larry were very fortunate and had a love like people often dream of. A very good way to look at the day!

Well, Miss Patti, you certainly have helped me to look at what I should be grateful for instead of what I lost and don't have anymore!!!

I had over 40 years with the most handsome, delicious, loving, giving and caring man that any woman could ask for. He was my hero and my best friend.

Thank you for helping to remember the good and to help me come out of my funk.

Happy Anniversary, Patti, We also had 40 years of celebrating our marriage. At the time I felt it wasn't enough because our plans for retirement were just beginning. I know another 10 or 20 years wouldn't have been enough either. There is no right time to say goodbye. We have to remember the good days and work to make the best of what remains. Sharon

Patti, you had it all .... What a wonderful marriage and your attitude is amazing. Cancer cut my marriage short too and there isn't a day I don't miss my husband. He was the best.

38 years....that's a good long marriage. I know it never seems long enough. I was at 28 years. I remember thinking, wow, 28 years.
But my sister and brother have been married even longer, but they got married younger than I did too.
THe 16th of Nov. made it 1year and 1 month that I lost my husband to cancer. Every month I light a candle for him for several days around the 16th. Tomorrow I will go get fresh flowers for him.
It's hard when you knew someone in such an intimate and private way for so many years. Like you knew them and they knew you better than anyone.
I am glad to see how you are feeling fortunate. Love....wonderful and heartbreaking. I wish you a peaceful week.

Patti, I understand having that wonderful relationship with our soul mates. 38 years, that's amazing! My anniversary would have been 40 years the 21st. Although I miss my husband beyond what words can describe, I know we loved each other unconditionally. I still feel married to him and think I always will. Each day I live I believe is a day closer to being reunited with him. If only we could clone ourselves and be with them, yet be here too for the rest of our loved ones.
