Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I am so sorry for your lose. But I am so glad you found us here. I too lost my husband to a sudden motorcycle accident six weeks ago today. I understand EVERYTHING you said. I am afraid things are still so new for me I can't give any advice, except that there are bad days, and not so bad days, and I am told there will eventually be good days again. But I have found wonderful people here, and it does seem to help to write things out and get some feedback.
Much love going your way, maybe we can relearn to walk together.

Hope to hear from you often. You can quietly read or rant and rage til you feel better. We are here for each other. Sharon

I am so sorry for your broken heart. I lost my husband suddenly 6 months ago.
These people on this site has saved my life. I throw all the crazy crap that has happened and there is always a warm hug around the keyboard, even at 3 in the morning.
Peace to you
Dually
From your pain you have come to us. Welcome to our circle of grief. My husband died on Valentine's Day this year and, although the rush of pain that caused was new to me, coming here was the salve that has my broken heart healing.
I had no idea that one's heart could actually HURT! Thought that was just an expression. Thought a lot of things, especially that that pain would NEVER stop and that I was about to go over the cliff to insanity.
This warm, caring group of angels are here to help each other heal - first by grabbing hold of the hand of those who, on any given day, need that hand; then, by hanging on - all of us to each other - and slogging through the arduous climb up and out of the abyss into which we've all been thrown.
Get ready for the ride of your life! Not gonna' lie - it may, and probably will, get worse. You're gonna' feel like a candle that suddenly melts into a pool of wax - more often than you can imagine. You're gonna' have good days that make you think, "Ah, it's good to feel better." Then, most often without warning - wham! That Grief Monster's gonna' hit you and you're gonna' think Arnold Schwarzenegger just ran into the room and body-slammed you. BUT, take heart! That's why we're here.
Grab a shoulder to cry on, a hand to squeeze, an ear to listen. One day - and I promise you this (I don't take making promises lightly) - you will be able to smile, then laugh, then share your good times with those, who just like you now, need to hear that this horror will not last forever.
Hugs,
Terry

Those tears for yourself and others will help in a strange way. There are millions of tears in each of us and they must come out.
I lost my Charlie on April 9 2012. We had been married for 45 years. Nothing in my life prepared me for this horror. I think people tell you you are strong because that is how they want you to be. You do not have to be strong.
I joined DS at about a month out like you. Coming here, writing about Charlie and our love is what has kept me going. I have met some really good people here.
I pray you find some comfort and peace. Julie
