Today was mine and hubby's 13th wedding anniversary and I made it thru. I miss him like heck but knew he was watching over me today. I also wish he could of been here to celebrate it with me. On sunday he will be gone for a yr. Sometimes I feel like it just happened but other time feel like it hasbeen forever. I just have to rremember that I need to stay strong for mykidos and show them it is ok to hurt and still keep living ur life. I sure do hope Chris is very proud of me and how well I am trying to deal with him being gone almost a yr and on the 18th my mom will have been gone 6 months . I miss them both very much. Thank u guys for always being there to listen and just being ur selfs . Lots of love and hugs, Jaime

I am so happy to hear that you lived this milestone with grace. Each time you do that you will get stronger. It sounds like you have a good attitude and are doing what you can to get through this difficult situation and such tremendous losses. May you continue to make your husband proud and to be a source of strength for your children, And if you get sad or don't feel as strong as you want to be...just forgive yourself and try all over again. I am at a year and a half and once I passed the year milestone, I felt much stronger even though I continue to miss my husband. Onward and Upward my friend!

.I am dreading the next few months. my birthday May 26....His birthday June 25, 49th anniversary July 3.....August 24th we started dating 50 years ago...

I hope I can make it through this.....Then I will have to slide through the holidays...

Congratulations on reaching your one-year anniversary on Sunday. You can look back and see how far you have come in your healing. You sound like a very balanced and sensible lady. It's good to hear from people who have made it through the first year. Stay strong, and keep laughing and hugging, as you said!

I think you have found a important part of the grieving process learn to carry the pain with grace but keep on living. Thank you for inspiring me as my anniversary is 9 days away and Im only 4 months into this journey. I know our spouses dont want us to be in pain but keep on living. Yes im sure Chris would be proud of you. I know only now as the incredible pain has lifted a bit I can feel my wife cheering me on to keep going in life with dignity. Congratulations on dealing with your milestone with grace. Gerald

I'm at 27 months, and I'm starting on all my third holidays without Brian. It's still hard and I defintely remember my year of firsts. What I found to be true for myself is that the dread leading up to the day was worse for me than the day was.

Our wedding anniversary and my birthday are coming up in June and I'm trying to decide if I should take off work or not. The first year, I tried to work and sometimes it was okay and sometimes I really needed to be alone on that particular day.

I'm sure your husband and mom are very proud of you for making it through this year of firsts.

Your post gives me inspiration for facing Our Day right ahead. My husband died Jan.29, 2013...so I am only 3 months along on my solo-journey. Our 46th wedding anniversary will be May 5th...and I plan to celebrate privately... the wonderful years I had with a wonderful man.

Good lass! It is Okay to be sad, you need not be strong all the time, but you seem to be doing very well. ((HUGS))

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
