I have been here since Nov last yr, my husband died suddenly of massive heart attack July 31. Living in a rural Mt area there is no support groups near me this sight has been a God send for me.
People here are great and a good sight to vent, cry, bring in help, whatever Take care of yourself.

Hello, Deb, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband in December after a long battle with COPD. You can vent and cry and just read and it helped me to know that I wasn't "crazy" when I first started this journey. Take baby steps and come back often for some wonderful support from those who really "get it". Big HUG.

So sorry for your loss! I lost my husband 2/4/10. I'm on my 2nd try at local grief counceling. I know it helped somewhat last year but I think maybe it was just too soon. My doctor ordered me back in to counceling when I told him I was depressed. Along with nerve pills and anti-depressants. I was totally against taking the anti-depressants but knew I really needed them.
I was just told about this site yesterday. I think it will probably be more benefical than the counceling. There doesn't seem to be anyone close to my situation in the counceling.

Sorry we had to meet this way, but I am rather new to the group to. As my husband died suddenly and 2 weeks later my son graduated and 5 weeks later got married. I was dreading the wedding as it was also out of town, but they included my husband in the wedding. And my son danced with me to I'm Already There and they finished the reception with me and my son Chad dancing to the last song, I'm Already There. The first time we cried like two babies, but the last time we were able to enjoy it and realize he was with us all along. I won't tell you this is easy in fact I don't think there has been anything in my life that was harder. Just take one day at a time or even one minute at a time. One minute I can be fine and then I totally loose it. And because of the friends on this website they seem to help you hold it together. Take care and remember we are all here for you. Hugs. Tink

from what I have read so far on some of the discussions, I think I can get more out of this than the grief counceling classes locally. I went to one meeting after the grief counceling called Rollo, can't remember what that stood for. I was very uncomfortable with that. I think there was one person besides myself that was under the age of 80. It seemed to be the most excitement those ladies had all month. They were just waiting for their turn to die.
I will admit that I am waiting on my turn too, but I am going to do some more living before then. And at least have some fun along the way.

Deb, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 3/15 of this year, he had lung cancer.
I have found this group of wonderful and caring people to be so embracing and full of great advice.
Postive thoughts to you on this painful journey.

Glad you found the site and I hope all goes well with surgery. My husband, Rob, also dies of GBM. There are several GBM widows on site. A nightmare to watch and recover from watching. My heart goes out to you. Hug, Donna
