Jagger is my friend and protector. I often tell my Scooby Jagger Doo stories as he has defended his home from more shadows, pool floaties, hats on chairs, and misplaced items in the yard than even the Mystery Gang has encountered.

I recently rescued a kitten who is now part of our clan. That all began with a dream in which I received a text message from Heaven (wasn't at all strange to dream me). The text told me to go the automotive counter at Wal-mart because my husband had left something there for me. It was a scraggly Siamese kitten. So, a few weeks later when a neighbor in tears brings this little sick, half hairless Siamese kitten to my door asking if I can help, I couldn't say no. About $100 in vet bills and lots of TLC later, his hair is growing back, he has lost that alien creature look, and is going to be beautiful.

We have 3 dogs and a cat. My husband's dog, Amber, was the first. She's 11 years old. A pet shop purchase, mini-pin. Great personality. My husband loved her to death. There were times I was jealous of how kind and gentle he always was towards her.
The two of them have very similar personalities. Walk slowly. Rest often and quietly. Growl/ complain, when Chloe and I interrupt their peace and quiet. She would bark like crazy when he pulled into the driveway. Would run around in circles waiting for him to come through the door. She misses him terribly. I've taken her to the cemetery and she actually laid herself down right on his grave, almost exactly where his lap would have been. Her favorite spot in the house, his lap.
Then there are the 2 golden retrievers. Chloe was supposed to be my kids' dog when we bought the house (no dogs were allowed in our apartment building). Suffice to say, she's mine. She's territorial aggressive. She doesn't let anyone or anything near me on walks. I can walk her at midnight and feel safe.
Chelsea is our rescue. She was a breeder that was rescued from a puppy mill. Scared of her own shadow. Today, I taught her that she could swim.
The cat is my brother's. We've been "catsitting " her for 15 years. My brother and wife asked us to keep her for a few weeks before the birth of their "baby." The "baby" is now 16.

I have Pearl, a 10 month old pug/sharpei mix who is the biggest pain in my butt, and I sort of mean this in a nice way. Without her, I would come home to an empty house. Because of her, I get kisses and she dances with me in the living room. She just stands up, I take her paws, and we dance peacefully. She gets me out of the house and I've been introduced to the dog society because of her. I just wish Mike could have met her because she came into my life a month after he died. Speaking of Pearl, she's staring at me right now with those lively brown eyes because it's almost 6:30 and it's time to go to the dog park. Thanks Pearl!

My dog was a charmer. She was with me through the worst times in my life. She passed away 3 months ago, just months after my husband passed. I had considered getting a new dog, but sadly my job prevents me from doing so. I work 12 hour days.

I really wish I could have a dog, though. They're great companions.

BTW - dogs are not my favorite critters at the monet. A neighbors pitbull literally destroyed the sheet metal on my Monte Carlo. $2700 damage. He was trying to get to the cat which had taken refuge under the wheel well.

I've not seen the cat since.

Riversbend tribute is the best. That's my dog. An 8 year old toy poodle, Banji. Was always Rene's dog always right next to her. Now he follow me every step and want to go with me everywhere. Looks so sad when I leave but greats me unbelievable when I return.

I have 2. One 4 pound teacup poodle given to me as a gift from my husband 6 years ago and a 6 pound chihuahua he gave to me one week before he died. I think they saved my life during the worst time in my life. I love them so much and they love me expecting nothing in return. They keep me up and going everyday!

5 cats............1 a rescue cat, and the others kittens of a feral............we raised them ..........they are substitute snugglers.....would love to have a dog but not till I get moved..........finding a place to rent in the interum while a house needs to be build will be a challange, but I will find something..................good post........

I have a border collie. I got her the week after Frank died. Best decision I ever or was able to make at that time. She is extremely bright and her name is Mandy. I often say that if she could talk, I would be paying for another college education. Although dogs are alot of work the benefits far outweigh. She knows my sad times and will stay by my side.

We love both dogs and cats but years ago we changed to cats for the convenience of care. I have 2 Siamese cats and they are my other sons. They bring joy, humor, love, and companionship into my life. They are my friends and sense my moods. This is their house and they let me live here with them! Don't know what I'd do without them. Our pets are just wonderful. Take care, Sandra

I own one dog her name is Penny she is a dachshund. She is a wonderful dog with the best personality. She just has such a loving nature. Love her so much.
My son has a kitten he loves dearly too. We also have outside a guard duck , a rabbit and horses.

tskks, I had to read your post twice. First go around left me thinking ...why would she be talking about a porta potty. lol. Have never seen this type of dog but promise to read slower.

I inherited an abandoned pitt bull. He is a good boy but just cant seem to gain hierarchy over my 18 lb cat. It gets entertaining here or I just really need to get a life...lol. Naw, I love 'em all.
