This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

After my father died, I know my mother read and appreciated "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Rabbi Harold Kushner. Rabbi Kushner wrote it following the death of his 14-year old son from a rare disorder. I haven't read it myself, but my Mom said it helped her deal with my father's death from cancer.
