I am on several boards, and I just click on the Hug__________. symbol at the bottom of the post or profile. If you get a hug from someone who you do not want to be friends with, or choose not to, just don't hug back. Are you accessing this site on your mobile device? Maybe I'm not understanding the quesiton. I assume you just want to send someone a hug, and when you click on that you get a whole choice of hugs, flowers, thumbs-up etc.
I've only had a few creepy guys offer hugs, and when I wondered who they were, I look at their activity, and gee whiz, they always hugs other woman, and mainly younger ones (I am not young). On my AA board, men give woman hugs all the time - but thats just how were are in AA - always hugging!

You can click on their name and go to their profile and it says "Hug Mgould" there (also "send a message"), whether you're friends or not.

I think it depends on the hugies settings, if their profile is private only friends can hug them. In this forum hugs are more for support and encouragement and shouldn't be flirtatious. As most of the members here are women I try to be mindful of what I say, nobody should feel uncomfortable about spreading or receiving a little love.

Yes, i have quicly found this out...it depends on who is doing the hugging!

As a man who is grieving the loss of his wife, I have received more hugs than I deserve. I've got them from men AND women. Every hug I get means so much to me that i start my damned crying all over again. When we hurt, we need comfort. And what is more comforting than having someone wrap you in their arms and hug you? It's not a sexual thing at all. Believe me. Right now, the furthest thing from my mind is sex. That being said, I am sending you a big hug this morning. You don't need to hug me back if you are uncomfortable. This place is all about helping you get through this process. God Bless......Joe
