Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Yes, the anxiety when you go to the store. How well do I know that one. You just want to jump out of your skin and run like heck. Where? You have no idea.
I told him everything, which is right in line with grieving. What could one expect after loving a person for 38 years, and losing them, now being totally on their own? He also said there are no time lines, everyone's journey is a personal one, and there are no rules. He also felt I was doing the best for myself, right in line with the healing process, and had no doubt that in time I would be the independent and confident woman I once was. Geez, easier said that done, doctor.
But, being he has been in practice for many, many years, I am sure he has seen and heard it all.
He is pleased I am in counseling, and going to try the bereavement group on Monday. Also said to limit my time being alone, exercise and cut out raw sugar. And to get out of the house as much as possible.
I'm just adding all this in the hope that it helps one of you.
We'll see how the new meds work, but ultimately in time it is up to me to pull myself out of the hole.
Good luck with the new med... Lily
Have to have confidence in someone and something. Already, after having two nights of good sleep has made a difference. The anxiety and false fears have disappeared, and I feel a sense of strength, small, but a sense.
Thanks girls.
Now, how to handle the feeling of isolation and being alone. Blaaah!
