Just visiting on the 10th anniversary of the loss of my partner of 20 years Mike.  The time has flown by and the only place I thought there would be some understanding was in this group.  It is nice to see a few familiar names here though the posts are old.  Seems like he just died yesterday.  Time for me to turn over a new leaf now.  Not even sure what that entails.  Love and hugs.

Feeling really sad that I haven't seen Mike or my 17 year old cat Lucy who passed away three months before Mike did, for ten years now.

I wasn't sure how I would feel but just have sadness for a future of ten more years of being without them.

Hi Veronica,

It’s good to see your post. I just came back here because I was missing my husband also. It has been 8 and a half years.
We will miss them for the rest of our lives.
I do feel he still looks after me.

Hi…..Totally get it….has been 14 yrs since Norm passed….never thought I would still be here without him….
Thankfully. at 82, doubt I’ll be here for another 14 yrs. lol
It amazes me how fast those years have flown.
Trying to find things I want to do….anything with him was fun….the joy of the spontaneous has evaporated but I am thankful to be content most of the time.

Veronica77, just read your posts. I can completely relate to your feelings/emotions. I am coming up on 14 years in just a couple of weeks. It just doesn't seem possible that I have survived 14 years without my dear hubby. He was my everything, still is.

It has been just over 9 years for me that my husband has been gone. I still come back to read posts and see who is traveling along the same time line as I. Hugs to you.

    Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me.
