I'm glad you came over. I usually go back and forth to visit both sites. But this board for me feeds my spiritual side. Here you can speak openly about your faith and love for the Father without really offending anyone. It's refreshing to find folks who are Christian. everyone here are great. They are compassionate and caring and supportive. Gerry is the community leader and is a great guy. He has a lot of insight as well as others here who have been at this for awhile. I hope and pray you find it as helpful and nurturing as I have.
My wish is that none of us ever had to come here for the reasons we have but as we have found out God has a plan and we have to trust He will get us thru it. Just have to trust.
Take care.
Peace, Tim

It's like a fight for my sanity

Grieving is exhausting :(

This is a resurrected site for sure....it was dormant for so long.
Thank God, for all the people here, who encourage each other in faith and love.
We are all here for you, I'm glad you joined us.
Take care and big hugs....,from Sandra
learned from a lot from reading things you have posted
and Sandra thank you for your kind words xxxx
This is a safe place for you to express your grief with a community who has gone through similar experiences.

As I read your intro I noticed how new you are to this journey...and also the similar way that I lost a brother at 35, just to young. His wife and I share meals and talk together often, we always did. But the understanding of the loss associated with a spouse is different.
Hugs and prayers for you in this and we are here.

You are in my prayers.

Hugs, peace and prayers for you

I'm so sorry that you had to find a site like this!! But, glad that you found this one. This is a forum that no one wants to be a member of!!
As Laurie said, after losing a spouse the empathy for others certainly increases. Always before losing my husband, I felt so sad when someone lost their spouse, but, of course, had NO idea what this kind of grief could do to a person!!
At the beginning, you are in such a state of shock, and complete pain inside that its a wonder we have ANY sanity left. Then, as the grieving sets in, most people begin to think that they are truly losing their minds. Forgetfulness was something that I could not understand!! It seemed that I was getting dementia or something!! I couldn't remember anything and forgot so much! I finally found out that it was part of grief, after I joined a widows only site. It was a relief to read others posts and find that we all had SO much in common!!
The widowhood journey is not something I would wish on anyone, but, sadly, it happens all the time!! We aren't placed here on Earth for an Eternity......but, knowing Jesus as our Savior will give us a Blessed Eternity.
As you travel down this widowhood path, you will meet with many "grief waves". During the first and second years, those grief waves are a huge battle and such a part of this new life. Jesus will help you through these times, and the people here at DS will also boost you and pray for you. Sometimes, when a big wave crashes and pulls you under, I know it feels like you can't breathe. You will. You have to "let go, and let God" in those times. Yes, it absolutely hurts, but, you will survive!! Eventually, those grief waves will not come as often, nor, stay as long as at first. It does get easier as time goes by......time, is something none of us likes to think about. We always want the hurt to go away ~~ NOW! Time really does help.
My prayers are with you.
My husband, of 38 1/2 years, also died of a heart attack ~~ sudden cardiac arrest!! It was definitely not expected. That shock of loss is something I remember, very well. I hope never to feel that horrible way again. You are not alone. Read, post, take care of yourself. Drink lots of water ~~ you need it. Yes, grief is exhausting. Just remember there are people here who understand and also a loving Jesus.
Hugs, Joely
