Here is a link to a condition called Lichen Sclerosus. It casuses extreme itching in the vulva and labia areas. Read the info and google other resources. Doctors don't know much about this and they probably don't care (my personal frustration) I have this condition, it lead to a squamous cell carcinoma and a partial radical vulvadectmy. I hope this helps at least directs you to something to bring up to your doctor. We have to take our health into our own hands and push issues with out doctors.
What were your symptoms for the LIchen Sclerosus? I have itching and pinkness everywhere. I do have some days that are quiet. Have you ever used a Vitamin A cream?
What symptom did you have when it changed to VIN? One of my big concerns is that this discoloration is everywhere and it concerns me that this would be difficult to treat.
After a few months of treatment (between Oct 2010-Spring 2011) the abcess left and the condition seemed under control and I could go down on times I used the clobatezol ointment. But last July it came back, it fused my clitoral hood with an abcess underneath that continuously became infected just up until January of this year. I am now going to the regional vulvar clinic next week for another evaluation about the fused hood. It seems like it started to come back apart on last OBGYN visit here in town this past visit in January.
Get a biopsy as soon as you can to get it under control.
