I am 42 and I have been diagnosed with GERD Type A Esophagitis, Hiatal Hernia, along with Diverticulitis, stomach Ulcers and a lot of ulcers in my small and large intestines. (last count was over 25).I have been through about 4 EGD's and my Dr has prescribed me different medications to help get this under control. I am now being put on a new medication and a follow up EGD in 6 weeks. Is this something to be concerned about going through all the medications and nothing working?. I can swallow now with out choking on food but it still feels like I cant completely swallow my food. My mom died from Diverticulitis about a year ago and there is a lot of cancer when it comes to the intestines and throat that runs in my family . What should I do at this point if this medication does not work like it should? I still have all the symptoms of GERD.
