I just had another scope a few months ago and discovered I have a hiatal hernia also. I been on the bandwagon of losing weight for years, but I deal with fibromygalia and fatty liver but trying to stay positive. I stay on a GERD diet mostly but got back in the habit of drinking tea. I have no heartburn but lately been having burning in my throat constantly, I assume from the hiatal hernia that developed.
My gastro dr told me just to stay on the meds and keep trying to lose one lb a week. I was just wondering if there was anything I coul use to relieve the burning throat. I thought it was from sinuses and allergies but since my nose doesnt run I guess its from acid reflux.
After my last endoscopy it showed irritation, they didnt called it Barretts but it might be, maybe Esophagitis I just want some advice while I am trying to lose weight to stop the irritation and burning in my throat and back of mouth.
I see my gastrologist in a year. Thank you for any advice you can give me.
I had gastric bypass over 10 years ago and for about a year now, I've been constipated to the point I would go a week a more without having a bowel movement and when I do it hurts very much and I get nauseous. My doctor put me on cytotec 200mg twice a day which has helped, instead of going once a week or less I go every 3 days or so but I still have the pain and nausea, is there something that we may be missing?
