Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
I would be happy to have a live conversation with you at some point. I think it would have to be next week though as I have deailings going on with my P ex and a load of other commitments. If you would like, send me a private message and I will respond in between other things I am doing.
I am sorry for what you are going through. At last here, you will see that you are not alone. It upsets me that therapists so rarely recognize a sociopath in their office. Hugs.
Kris
I agree with the others that therapy and counseling can be quite beneficial, and venting and posting here is helpful, too. It takes time to overcome being emotionally traumatized, which is something I had to finally realize. Best of luck to you!
I am not a christian but I know how love in decribed in the bible. Love first of all seek to be the best for the other. What we have been up to is evel.
Being in denial, believing they "might" change is a horrendous lie we tell ourselves. We can become masochists as we believe there might be one little iota of hope that the monster will change and become who we want and need them to become. And these sadistic A-holes gobble up our trust and good hearts, then they spit us out.... leaving us shredded and destroyed.
We, and I'm including myself here, need to stop being masochists. We need to start loving ourselves enough to say "no more!". No more abuse and self inflicted pain! Because everytime we allow them to come back into our lives and hearts, we are allowing the pain and torture to have access to our souls. We are the ONLY ones who can truly protect ourselves from these pieces of crap. Bottom line.... we have to gather enough strength within to prop up our backbones and stand up to the evil.
DenverDana, I'm wishing you complete success in overcoming your addiction to your abuser! big huge (((Hugs))) to you!
It is a hard habit to kick, and I am still recovering. But don't fool yourself. You have been used by a very sick person who will think nothing of using you again if you let him.
She is now on Facebook claiming to be 100% cured of her lying. She has one friend.
