Boy what an eye opener!!! I just got approved for Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab. They are taking care of everything. Putting me into my own business working alongside law enforcement.

They are paying for School, Supplies, Training, Certificates; helping me get a SBA loan and govt contracts.

Any Service connected disab. vet, even at zero % really should check this program out. If you have questions ask me and I will try to find out =)

I started about a year ago walking my dog on commercial property as a security deterent. No real profit just a couple extra bucks. I have decided to train a German Shepard for narcotics and search and rescue and rent him to the dwindling police departments for $200 -$400/ hour

If I make a profit I may lose some of my disab but I will be making more cash!!! it is a win win.

There is a guy in the county I live in training seeing eye dogs. He sells these dogs for a lot of money. Sound good nobody666. I hope your business prospers.

I met yesterday with a Business Analysit from the state who is going to report to the VA on my business plan. The meeting went real well he likes the idea of working the dog in the security company. His only concern was making sure I was charging a rate that would be profitable. I told him I was running break even now just to attract business and get brand placement and a history.

So far so good I will keep you guys updated...Tim

hey Tim,

Congrat's on getting VOC REHAB--it's a GREAT PROGRAM and they are very forgiving too.

I have been in Voc Rehab 2 different times, and am still in it now. However, because of the stressors in my life with BP/BPD, right now I have basically been placed in a part of VOC REHAB called
ILP--INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM

With this, I still get all the counseling monthly, getting a new lap top, and supplies, actually they are buying me some heavy duty rails so I can stand for longer while doing my cooking, and a cool stool to sit on in case my legs get weak while working in the kitchen...I just am not getting the monthly stipend while trying to work out my issues. Dental is also included.

It's a GREAT PROGRAM and if U have any questions, just ask me..I was in Voc Rehab from 1995-1999 and then 2006-2008, and 2010- present for Independent Living Program.

Sounds like you might get fucked. Be carful. Sorry but Voc-rehad might just want a story. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I don't Know. Be careful.

Wow congrats, I've been thinking about this for awhile. Ive just recently gotten my disability from military and SSD. Im waiting to increase my rating to 100% for individual unemployability now. Id like to use my time more productivly and see if I can maintain a school/learning program. My cognitive abilities are imparied from MS but I should try anyway. I have nothing to lose right?
