If it was started by Gunny, he closed his account which evidently closed the Group. I know he founded the Viet Nam Vets group and it is gone.

i don't follow anyone. i just didn't know gunny had left. does anyone know why?

I guess this explains why the Vietnam Veterans group is gone. Did someone say something to Gunny to p---- him off or what?

Someone started a new group, .. not even military oriented. Gunny got offended because he sensed a lot of people from his group went over there to the new group. He stated he felt abandoned and was very hurt by it. I was puzzled that Gunny would think people should not be members of more than one group. From what I saw, the new group had no competitive relationship to Gunny's. But he was very offended and closed his account.

He woke up the other day and noticed more than half of his vietnam vet group withdrawn and registered in at carlas group. When he tried to enquire carla kept deleting his topics. He felt betrayed by the very people he helped. He was the most unselfish man I've ever met. He was the type of person who would lay down his life for anyone here-until now.

I don't think a man like the Gunner who came out of the swamps of Nam as a POW would go AWOL over some minor shit like that. He's a Marine for God's sake! There must be more, much more, to the story. And until the Gunner comes back, the group needs to carry on.

You all have been doing this a hell of a lot longer than I have. I'm gonna wing over and try to reconstruct the framework of the group, calling it "Veterans of the Vietnam Era," and you all can jump in if you like with other candidate names, we'll vote and restart the group then turn it over to the Gunner when he returns.

Sound OK? Anyhow, it'll be a temporary dry hooch that we can crawl into till the monsoon passes and we can figure something out.

Hey Reply#2, what do you mean "Dumbass Marines"? Gunns has been through more than any of us could imagine! He can do what he wants. And watch your tongue when referring to my beloved corps!

Ok! The Group we've put together for Vietnam Veterans is called the "Veterans of the Vietnam Era" and is for all veterans who served during the period of America's engagement in South Vietnam, from 1962 till the fall of Saigon in 1975.

Regardless of where you served, Germany, stateside, Greenland, etc., etc., if you wore the uniform during that period, you're more than welcome to join the Group!
