what does everyone think about our new president? i'd like to hear all veteran's opinions on this matter. what do you fear? what are you angry about? what are you happy about? what do you want to see happen?

i say gear up for a rough ride! check all your gear and stock up on MREs! make sure you got enough ammo as well. i never trusted him and never will, especially since he gaffed off the troops in Afghanistan, not to mention he didn't put his hand over his heart during the national anthem! anyone who disrespects our troops and our flag is an enemy to me! this country is in for a bad ride so make sure you all got your gear ready for what he may or may not do!!

Myself am saving all cardboard! So as to have enough to make a nice little house when our economy goes completely bust, because of people putting an inexperienced, religion questionable, good speach reader, leader(???) into our White House!

Good luck everyone! We may be out of Iraq and we're definitely going to get "change", but I don't think it's going to be the change we need!!

*let's see if one of the first things he does is lower our upcoming Cost of Living Allowance(COLA)???

I didn't even think about what gunny brought up about whether he will put his hand on the Bible when being sworn in! That's going to be interesting. Maybe they will start the impeachment proceedings directly afterward if he won't place his hand on the good book!?!

I'm happy to say that I voted for Obama and think that if he runs his cabinet as well as his campaign was run, then we will all be better off. I have been a fan of his for a very long time as I follow politics very closely. Please no mean remarks sent my way. I also think that McCain's speach was wonderful and that he is a great man, he had a hard road following the last eight years.

One of the great things about our political system is that all of the House of Representatives and a full third of the Senate are up for reelection in 2 years. They won't let any president go too far afield.
I can trust them to go about their real jobs which is to get reelected.So unless any president's actions represent the will of the people, it usually won't have much support in Congress. (See President Clinton's extreme plans for uiversal health care and President Bush's plans for privitization of Social Security. Neither plan flew.)
I think that we'll be all right.

I don't believe that either of the candidates' loyalty should have been or be in question. President Obama elect has a terrible job before him and we all better pull together or this is going to be a Sh...y ride for all of us.
I have lived through World II. Korea, Viet Nam, and all of our conflicts and right now our situation in our country is pretty bad.

And to add to all of this, Bush will now be back in Texas!! So all you think you got complaints????? Peace to us all

OMG PearlB I forgot all about the fact that he will be coming to our neck of the woods soon. Rumor has it he has been looking for a new place right here in North Texas---DFW to be exact!!
