Who has the inside scoop on the best Veterans Day events (as well as the free food) Anyone know where the traveling wall might be?

Best food deal is Applebees. Every veteran gets a free meal. My home town has a ceremony on the green where all the memorials are (from Civil War to Vietnam.....understand they are going to dedicate one for Gulf War/Iraq/Afghanistan). As for the Wall, no idea right now. Will try to find it for you.

B&B for Vets --Nice idea.

The article says, "In 2010, over 900 inns and B&Bs opened their doors to active and retired military, as well as veterans." One free night's stay for one veteran and one guest.

I visited the wall several years back when it was in Ohio, and I think it came back again last year.

I was stationed at Pax River, MD when the Wall was dedicated. My girlfriend and I brought the kids up for the dedication. Huge crowd, lots of tears and hugging. Since that time I have been back to visit the wall twice in DC and three times when the Traveling Wall came to Connecticut. Each time is a very moving time for me but I would never pass it up. It is a very healing experience for me too.
