Just thought you should know.
Now if you want a 1 to 10 or 1 to 100 rating, then Newington is rated at least a 8.5 to 9.0 and West Haven an easy 9.5
Bluesun....I also hear that the military is really pissed at obama for this bull crap. My nephew's wife just had a baby and they are being told that if this plan of Obama's goes thru then he must get health care insurance for his wife, his son, and their daughter at a cost to him of over $150 a month. The military do not get paid much as it is. How can they afford this extra cost?
I have been going to Ann Arbor V.A. Hospital myself since 2002 or was it 2003. In fact I was just down there early Feb, 2012 for my lung function testing. This was the best it has been for years (that doesn't speak for rest of this nursing home material person though). This hospital I give it about a 9 in a scale up to 10. My lung doc there is a nice doc unlike years ago though when the lung doc was rude to me. I stated to a neurology interen that I Grand Rapids should have a V.A. Hospital being that it's the second largest city in Michigan. She came back and was probility pissed off from my statement and said that my primary care doc manage my neuropathy.
I haven't lived around the Detroit area since I went into the USAF. My brother and familiy live in Lincoln Park. We grew up in northwest Detroit and Livonia. Since I got out of the USAF, I've been living in G.R. area ever since.

First Happy Easter and a happy holiday for whatever you believe.
I go to the Hines VA right outside of Chicago. Ive been going there for about 5 years now. I have no complaints except that the pop machine charges to much and the cafeteria is a little high also . (Of course Im kidding !!!)
I would rate Hines VA as a 9 or 10.
I also go to my local out patient VA clinic (Ten minutes from my house. Hines is about 20 /25 miles away.)
They are both very good. 99% nice people .
I look at it this way. The doctors at the VA probably get paid a salary .unlike a private doctor that gets paid on how many patients that he/she sees . Probably no quick back on drugs that they prescribe. Soooooooooooooo, they take their time . No rushing you through.
I once had 4 or 5 eye doctors taking care of me at the same time . They all consulted each other on my condition . I would not get that in the private sector.
I also have Medicare and a supplement insurance that Im first starting to use and learn how to . !
BTW- I have about 8 or 9 appointments that I have to make for different check ups on all the shit that I do have. Or may have . Ha=Ha .
I go on .. Try to live everyday ..
God bless us all
