how very sad; but what you wrote was very good in expressing your feelings. remember, all grandparents love their grandchildren - a guarantee. as grandparents, they develop this unbreakable bond with their grandchildren... its kind of a redo, things they wish they would have done with their own children looking back, but get another chance now. i will think strong thoughts for you and your grandpa. take care of yourself.

I remember my pappy would take me to the store and buy me the biggest lolly-pop he could find... sit me on a box in front of the store and let me get all sticky and messy.. made mom mad, but he loved seeing me enjoy myself.
My other granddaddy would sneak away from "HER", pick me up in his old car and take me to wrestling matches, buy me milk shakes and cotton candy.

I dont know if this is the right place to say this but I understand my grandmother was a victum of the ovens in WW!! and I never got to know my grandfather well. He was afraid to come down to live with us because he said we were all gonna by scalded by indians.(I was born and raised out in the country not the city)..

I cried when I read this. So sad!
