When I was living at the Rocky Hill VA Home & Hospital I tried to start a movement to have the current Commissioner replaced. Even though she is a veteran she does not seem to have the welfare of the vet in mind. She has two new cars, lives off the grounds, yet maintains a residence on the VA grounds that is unoccupied. She recently spent $45,000 having the place renovated. She had a Big Screen HD Flat Screen put in (so she can invite some selected individuals to watch World Series and Super Bowl), had a hot tub installed among other things. Now the residency buildings are more like dorms. They are very old and in dire need of renovations. Yet they spent $32 million to build a new (and much needed) 120-bed hospital on grounds. Yet now one can find the $9 million allocated two years ago for renovations to the for dorm buildings. All they have done is repaint them. So I have been trying to get her removed and replaced by someone who gives a shit. Problem is, she is good friends with former Governor Rowand and current Governor Jodi Rell. Not gonna happen I am told while Rell is still governor.

Happy, .. if there is one thing the VA is terrified of, it is publicity. If you have a 'good case', contact Bill O'Reilly, Shawn Hannity, or Glenn Beck. If your 'case' is substantial enough, they will put it 'out there' and the VA will freak out .. in my opinion ... crooked Governor or not.

i agree that it all should get media attn. that would cause em to act- FAST! they hate looking like assholes or crooks in the publics eye. especially governors or mayers, they want to get re-elected, and looking like a dumb ass will fuck that up. so they may just want to "fix" what to make public's approval.

Trust me guys, if you saw this place it would stun you. There are four buildings all connected to a cafeteria. Each two buildings are connected with two floors each. Total. of 8 wings. In each wind is 4 rooms with what was suppose to be 12 beds in each room. (each room is subdivided into 3 rooms with 4 beds each). Total per wind is 48 men sharing one bathroom. When I left they were putting 5 men in each subdivision (total 60 per wing).....and I am told now there are 6. Steam heat that no one can control. Tiles missing from floors or loose. Windows that do not seal. I have been advocating renovations to a bunch of death ears.

Couple of years ago I had Channel 3 come through with a hidden camera. They also investigated allegations of unregistered sex offenders living there. Now this Home & Hospital is next to an apartment complex with little children in it. The investigators found the living conditions almost to the point of calling in the health department. They also found 6 men who were convicted of molesting children, 2 sex offenders (rapists), one ex felon (murder) and two convicted of burglary. It raise a good stint but nothing happened. I am banging my head and getting headaches.
