Eating fish contributes to the destruction of the environment. The fish being consumed for food are just by-catch, meaning, a lot more sea creatures have to be caught and killed. Not to mention killing seafood is just a cruel as killing land animals.
I really hope you stick to veganism. There is no reason why you need fish in your diet. If you are concerned about eating well, there are many resources online that can help you out. And if you have special requirements, you can find doctors that can support your vegan choice. Good luck!
Why eat fish? Do you just like it?
I hope that you will stick with being a vegan or vegetarian. Mercury isn't the only danger with fish. You also have to worry about PCBs and other pollutants that bio-accumulate.
I don't suppose that it is too surprising that you aren't getting any suggestions about eating fish on this message board.
Have a great day and please re-think the fish thing!
Unless you're a 250 lbs body builder trying to put on another 50 lbs of muscle, it's basically impossible for someone living outside of a famine zone to not to have enough protein.
What you really need to worry about is not to get too much protein. Excessive protein in diet is very bad for your kidney. And it's very easy to overdose on protein.
In addition to protein overdosing, eating fish will also give you plenty of mercury, which is the essential nutrient for brain damage, kidney damage, lung damage, and hearing loss.
