Cleansing takes practice, and I don't recommend it for weight loss, even though you do lose weight. That's not the point of cleansing, the point is to let the body rest from one of it's hardest tasks-digestion while giving it an opportunity to put that energy towards repair.
If you have issues with constipation, hypoglycemia, diabetes, etc, please consult an expert before doing this.
Also, look into mono food fasting one day per week as a gentle alternative. Choose a nutritious, high-fibre food that you enjoy, like apples or brown rice, and eat nothing but that for one day a week. This also gives your body a break, and doesn't make you feel deprived. (Of course, if you juice right, you don't feel deprived either:)
If you are into juicing but want to take it slowly, Juice all day, and then have a BIG salad for dinner. Try to avoid store-bought dressings, opting instead for healthy fats like olive oil(or flax oil or yummy sesame seed oil)and combine it with balsamic vinegar!
As for taking juices to work, I just make a big batch in the morning and make sure to keep it cold (if you have access to a fridge at work that's great). Juices are optimal when fresh, however, life happens and sometimes you have to settle for less-than-ideal. Still better than drinking a bottled, pasteurized juice.
Hope that helps...!

Please understand, that for me, this is the next logical step. I said 'for me'. I will say this again, I'm not trying to impose my beliefs or choices on you or anyone else!
I have come a long way towards loving myself, and it hasn't always been easy. We may be on different paths, but that doesn't mean we won't end up in the same place. So, in the meantime, thank you for all of your contributions. Your condescending negativity has been valuable in keeping this post going:)
Namaste!
Juicing is a great opportunity for the body to focus its energies on purging toxins. My teacher many years ago recommended short fasts to ease the burden on my poor skin as I shed fat. Over the years, I've managed to go on longer fasts and have always felt better for it when it's all said and done!
Toxic substances are often stored in fatty tissue in times when the body is not able to deal with it directly. For example, when you combine alcohol with food, the body will put other tasks on the back burner while it processes the alcohol-and frankly, we don't give our bodies enough time to process one thing before we stick something else in it.
I find it interesting when vegetarians react to juicing just like meat-eaters act when you say you're vegetarian! It seems that they think open-mindedness is a one-way street or something.
Just like vegetarian/veganism, Fruitarianism, etc, fasting can be misconstrued as an eating disorder, or might be used by someone to hide an eating disorder. Thusly, ALL can get a bad reputation from time to time.
We need to give the human body the credit it deserves. Some seem to think that abstaining from eating is going to kill you.
Yes indeed, over a long period of time, it will! But our ancestors didn't have the constant access to food that we do, and as a species, we've been forced to endure many a lean time! Because of this collective history, our body has quite intelligently designed itself to have reserves for just this kind of situation.
For me, Fasting represents balance. We live in an overindulgent society ripe with toxins at every turn, and we enjoy them to excess as a rule! Taking time off periodically refreshes physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually...but that's just my opinion based on my experience:)
Namaste!
Blessings to you
