Urinary Incontinence Support Group
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Stress, functional, and urge incontinence are the most common forms. Share with other support group members and learn from their stories and experiences.

Hey, I'm new to this support group. Thank you so much for having me on here! I am 21 years old and I know I have stress incontinence. Sometimes when I sneeze or cough, I pee a little. It also happens when I laugh too hard or giggle too much.
I told my boyfriend about the different types of incontinence and told him that while incontinence is thought to be reserved for women who are pregnant or who have given birth or had multiple births, or those who are older, like in their 50's, 60's, 70's or older, girls and women of all ages can become incontinent, even since childhood.
I am nervious about making love to my boyfriend, because I might wet the bed... Also, my stress incontinence makes me very stressed out and nervious, because at socials or parties, everyone seems to think jokes are funny and laugh and have a great time. I, on the other hand, cannot laugh too hard, or else I will have to rush to the bathroom.
I want to have an active and productive life, and also have a great, healthy sex life with my boyfriend. Luckily, he is very understanding and supportive, and not like a lot of guys, who would be embarrassed or grossed out if I peed in his bed. And because I sent him a couple links about urinary incontinence in younger women who have not gotten pregnant or had children before, he has been very sinsitive and caring.
He realized that it isn't just wetting the bed, which no longer happens to me; it is also temporary urine loss, at the most inappropriate times. Like while I was making coffee one morning while he spent the night for the holidays, I almost wet myself.
But even though my boyfriend is so thoughtful and understanding, my stress incontinence is so emotionally and mentally draining... Today, all I did was cough, and imediately I peed! While I was at the store, I felt something and thought, "Did I just pee!?"
I have resolved to just wear maxi pads for periods, as I am way too embarrassed to purchase adult diapers, depends, or incontinence pads...
Also, I have been doing kegels for three days, now and will continue doing so until I can control my bladder, even when I laugh, cough, sneeze, or anything that stresses my body. Hopefully, I will see much improvement!
Anyways, incontinence is a serious emotional and physical condition that I have decided to help erase the stigma behind and spread more awareness and understanding of.
Thank you all so much for the support!! We are all one happy family, because we have each other's backs.

I have toys. So the ones I have not used or need any more, are gone in the trash. One of my toys is just a regular hand held massager with an attachment. The other is a real insertable toy. This morning I ordered a new toy with attachments. It is small and has a brush like attachment and the other looks like a rose with a tiny tongue. I'll get it in about 2 weeks. Rechargable and...

I can't believe this has gone on this long. So I don't have much hope of getting a tech job, but I saw an educational job that I thought might be really good. It would have been working at a university supporting high school students who are taking college classes. I did a mock interview with a friend and prepared extensively. It was at the university that I graduated from. I was very excited...

Welcome to this support group, I’m fairly new here as well but your amongst others who have the same or similar issues to us and who will be able to sympathize and understand what your going through.
I think unless you suffer with this most people associate it with older people or as you said maybe women who have given birth but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. Like you I suffer from stress incontinence which is typically more a female problem but effects me badly and I have the added bonus of constant bedwetting as well although all my problems started as a child when I was hit by a car.
Like you, whenever I cough, sneeze, laugh or do any kind of exertion I can’t help peeing a little. Normally I can manage mine with insert pads unless, like I am at the moment getting over a particularly nasty UTI, and it’s bad in which case I have to upgrade to better protection. Just a quick bit of advice, try not to use menstruation pads too often if you can help it, my girlfriend gives me hers as an emergency and they’re not really designed for pee, they left me damp and I noticed unpleasant odors, something I don’t normally have from the pads I normally use.
I also do kegal exercises and they do help although they seem to take forever to notice an improvement. But I also find if I neglect them my control deteriorates quite badly, and typically my control takes a lot longer to get back than it did to lose it. My controls so bad at the moment I desperately need to start then again but it’s still painful doing them as I’m trying to shake off this UTI. Try to stick with them though, as they may help.
I’m really pleased your boyfriends so understanding, my girlfriends the same and it means so much to me and makes all the difference. Because of that I don’t think you’ll have problems having a healthy sex life together, my girlfriend and I have found what works best for us and you guys will do as well.
I hope everything works out well for you and your control improves, please try to keep in touch and let us know how you get on. Good Luck.

I did by myself a couple of pairs of Thinx period panties which I wear as extra protection with maxi pad. At any rate keep going it will be worth it in the end.
I've been wetting all my life and my mom never let me feel bad being diapered. She educated me to see diapers like normal underwear and I must say it helped a lot.
I'm not embarrassed when someone notices my padding so you shouldn't either.
I'm glad that your boyfriend is so understanding.
If you like we can chat from time to time.
Thank you!!
These are underwear with extra cloth padding in the crotch for stress incontinence. Multiple different types of underwear styles. My wife uses the underwear and swears by them. Good luck!
I have oab due to bph,
Benign prostatic hyperplasia. Been in diapers since I was 32. No meds worked and I'm afraid of surgery. I'll be 40 this year.
