Urinary Incontinence Support Group
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Stress, functional, and urge incontinence are the most common forms. Share with other support group members and learn from their stories and experiences.

I am new to this support group and would like to introduce myself. I have Overactive Bladder - probably for all of my life. I've tried medicines but they don't seem to work. So I'm trying to improve this on my own from things I have read and advise from my Doctor. I do Kegels, I try to wait longer before I go to the bathroom and try to drink more to stretch my bladder. I wasn't drinking much in the past and it's healthier for you anyway.
This problem is very discouraging at times and makes me feel bad about myself. I know I'm being stubborn but those protective heavy pads and "diapers" are something I try to avoid at all lengths. I just don't want to feel like a "baby" or an "old lady." And I think it may be a crutch and would hinder my problem getting better.
I am Journaling about this in the My Journal section. Feel free to read it whenever you would like. I've written my first entry tonight and plan on writing frequently so you can check back often.
If you have any tips for me that would be great or if I can help you in anyway. You can contact me or feel free to Chat. I'll be posting my questions at a later time. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

Good luck with your chosen mode of management. Not all of us have that option. However, if you can make it work for you, wonderful.

Last response was a while back. Maybe this is what I have and I have been trying foley catheters and really like the way they feel. After the first ten days that is. Now I do not wish to tell the doctor about my self service but am thinking of ways to get the doctor to put on in then my catheter use can be official. Using a catheter gets easier with practice. Best time to put it in is at bedtime because the less movement at night makes the first hours more bareable and by morning it is a bit more normal of a thing to have.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
