In my last catheter change I noticed a thick buildup of a hard crystaline substance in my catheter. This had the consistency of fine sand. I know that I am not getting lime in my system because i drink water that has been filtered of lime. I do not put salt in my food so this can not be salt. This was also in the conector leading into my belly bag and it is in my bed bag tubing. What is causing this to build up so bad? it gets so thick inside of the tubing that it obstructs the flow and it makes my urine flow around the catheter.

Wow not sure what to say there. I used to use a cath when I first had problems.I always got UTI from them. Changed to using diapers then. Maybe that would be a better choice for you too?

Never niticed this with mine. And wondering if this was with a latex catheter. The only time that I was able to tolerate a catheter for more than three days it was with all silicone. Then I will say that my problem is a dificulty to hold so I have been expirementing with foley catheter use. And I like the feeling so I am thinking of ways to get my medicare doctor to put on in. And I do not wish to tell the doctor about the self service. Have been thinking about going full time all the time but at this point I just want to go for a few months so as not to shrink my bladder.

Not what I was expecting to find. The most common problem of incrustation in at the point of entry and that is really bad with latex. The thing that I heard was to use a touch of Vaseline just at that spot and that fixes it good but this encrustation on the inside most be a chemistry sort of thing in the system.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
