i heard that catheters are better then diapers. i found that there are many draw backs to catheters, like leakage, infection and convinces. as for diapers there are draw backs as well, they are rashes and leakage. i think diapers are more covenant and reliable then catheters. with catheters you have too deal with catheters bag and you get really go anywhere with them. i ben using diapers for a long time now, they help me out a lot. catheters can be somewhat painful too. that what i of catheters, that just my opinion. if anyone can tell me why catheters are better then diapers please let me know??? i just don't understand why some people would prefer catheters over diapers? i seen several discussion on this topic on this site and others too but didn't get any reply back from those sites. i thought i would propose this question to the group why are catheters better then diapers??????

I guess it's a matter of option and what kjnd of catheter you talking about and the thing I don't under is the complaint about have to deal with the collection bag well don't you have deal with a wet diaper for me I have a surpa pubic had for two years now no complaints the catheter is changed 1 month the site itself is cleaned every other day and new dressing put in place the bag it self I wear on the inside of my leg just below the knee emptying is easy I go into the bathroom take off the bottom strap open valve and empty in the toilet and night I use a larger bedside bag and the in morning it's mt rinse out the same with the leg bag every night I rinse them out I put a new on 1 wk some only change 1 month

what i meant was any kind of catheters. i don't mind dealing with wet or messy diapers it's a lot easier to deal with. i think with catheters deal with the smell and emptied the leg bag too.

it has been my experience of 64 years of dealing with incontinence in my option I would rather deal with emptying a leg then wet smelly diaper on less what you really saying is you love diapers whitch I never did I excepted them as a method of controlling problem

i find that catheters can be a problem when you work in a health care center, so diapers are the only way i can managed my incontinence at work. as for liking diapers i don't think it is a big deal. why is it a such a big deal to wear diapers epically in this group, then read reply 3. we all have different ways on how we deal with incontinence. if you chose to wear diapers then why is it that some people think you love to wear them??? i don't know why someone would think that!. in reply 3 he say that diapers aren't excepted method of controlling incontinence. then what is the best way dealing with incontinence??? i believe most popper way is diapers and meds.
