I couldn't agree with u more. the congress is working against anything that helps the jobless, middle class, or anyone who is not already rich and privileged. and it seems Obama has given up which pisses me off. i am so tired of the way things are in this country. America used to be the land of opportunities now it the land of unemployment and disenfranchised.

What are the people doing though really? If they really wanted to change things they would only buy American goods and only invest in ethical companies. Everyone would rather sit around buying cheap stuff from China than actually change the way they are living to make things better in the US.

Congress only acts if they think people care and most of the US is still acting like they don't care.

hey the USA is not YET a third world country....and should we become one it is going to be one hell of a lot worse here than ever! I support the USA and I support that we need people in our government who are effecting positive motions........and positive results...I do not wish to be living in a third world country when I am old and needy....

When Eisenhower was President you know that we had a top end marginal tax rate of 90%..and no one bitched to heavily at the top end then,,and we had Unions, low unemployment, and a pretty good and vibrant economy,,,OWS may need to get violent in order to get things done,,,

We started digging the hole many years ago. One place to start is when then President Nixon deregulated the gold system, basically giving unlimited credit to our governmentt who spent very irresponsibly.

I am just determined to enjoy each day as if it were my last and the only way I can do this is through my relationship with Christ. It is not easy to believe something this horrendous (collapse) will happen but I believe it to be true. It will also be global.

The jobs act may mean well, but then when they passed extended UI benefits you could still live in a state (such as I do, AZ) that doesn't allow the last 20 weeks of UI so you become a 79er vs a 99er.

I guess my point is I agree. Good ideas & intentions are great but when the powers that be don't want to give up their large slice of pie, the rest of us get thrown crumbs if we're lucky.

Not shocking that the "occupy" movement has become so strong, amongst other ways that average people are clamoring for their voices to be heard!

Think that it is about time that the Red State Republicans form there own damn government and seceed and then they can all starve to death as a third world country...since they all are in the Souh give them four or five states and the hell with them,,,

personally, i think it is time for us to stand up and revolt. i had high hopes for the "occupiers", but it seems as if the government is going to do what is always does. ignore them and eventually they will go away. we are just pesky little critters to them and they don't give a damn for us, or care how we manage to survive.

yes, they should raise the tax rate, and yes, they should institute some sort of real jobs program. we have one heck of a lot of infrastructure that is in dire need of repair. i would be more than happy to work on that. just give me a chance. i can't even get a job at burger king for crying out loud, and that sure wouldn't pay the bills!
