yep i agree. i still can't find a job anywhere and i am still volunteering. my therapist thinks i or anybody else is gonna volunteer forever i told her then these nonprofits should give everybody room and board and an living allowance for their volunteers - she just looked at me lol. she operates a false pretense about this economy but her job seems to be fine for now!

i am so tired of talking to different employment offices and they have no answer for anything. i told my therapist after volunteering what am i suppose to prove? how much more volunteering does one person needs to do before they can get hired within the nonprofit or elsewhere? i did some applying to jobs for des i had to record the jobs i applied or went on interviews with, i havent had any interviews - had phone calls but didnt like any of them.

the whole market is full of lies and many people out there don't seem to get that. i told one professional, the life i grew up, i am well accustomed to lies and can spot it quickly better you can - that made the professional pissed. i saw immediately how these employers are just lying, some lies are so good they can be hard to tell eventually the truth will emerge anyway.

where else are u suppose to turn to since u can't land employment anywhere?

Took a swipe at an ex-former employer while attempting to reclaim a job there I had twenty some odd years back.. It is the most pathetic situation imaginable ,,, This is at a psycho-social m/h facitlity here in Fl.

Been sending them resumes,, tried calling only to be told the person is not available and will call you back.. which they never do,,, I am more than qualified for the position being offered ,,, I in fact trained new employees in the position I am seeking back when,,,

I did a follow up letter with another resume through C/B and let them have it with both barrels.. if they are not going to bother with me, at least I want to give them a damn good reason,,,, NO MORE MR, NICE GUY from me ..

i agree. my sister told me the other day how she sent her resume to the air force for a civilian job in another city in japan. the recruiter or whoever at the air force base told my sister u would be willing to travel for an hour for this job? my sister said yes whatever it takes and the woman on the phone told her she is not qualified and cant take the risk of hiring her because she is in another city on the naval base.

my sister went off on her saying u want to hire incompetent people and other stuff she told the recruiter which quickly ended the conversation on the phone. my sister told me how the military has cut off a lot of things for them with this sequestor going on and now it is so hard to get a job on base and if she isnt fluent in japanese so she cant get a job off the base.

basically, my sister is stuck jobless and has two teen daughters. i wanted to tell some employers off that have contacted me because this is all ridiculous. i don't know if anyone told u this but i was told in all of these job workshops to showcase to employers how i could solve their problems and thats what they want to hear in interviews doesn't mean you will be hired no matter how fantastic you sound/demonstrate to them.

i told one trainer how am i suppose to tell them how to solve their problems and i dont have much job experience to have under my belt to showcase a lot of things i have done in the past to solve problems? the trainer just looked at me dumbfounded and yet i couldnt get a real definitive answer. i do volunteer back then i didn't volunteer. i got new skills yet i cant find a job and being careful about having a lot of volunteering on my resumes cuz it turns off the employers. they want to see paid positions on your resume thats the only way they may give u a job.

i dont know how many times i have to keep hearing oh u will get a job someday who has time to wait on some day?

I don't know where you are politically, but I listen with awe and amusement to rightwing radio ,, where they insist that private sector good paying jobs are plentiful and that the people who complain are just lazy,,, they site as example huge job opportunities in North Dakota and at Walmart ..

i listen to mike adams and npr news. i love when they say oh jobs are plentiful yet nobody can't find these "plentiful jobs" within their own state! ive had other users in other groups on here tell me i am lazy and not looking hard enough i wanna be a fly on that wall when they get laid off and bitching about the unemployment insurance.

problem is a lot of people can't get jobs in the private sector unless they have the previous experience and possibly "connections" to get in. someone told me to apply in the private sector i have seen the job ads all say they want experience..........

It's in the president's hands. He clearly wants us to depend on him, that's why he is babysitting us.
