Well, I hope that I am wrong, but they lookingat cuts to everything including unemployment benefits, compensation, etc...

My sources told me there might be a chance they will over look it but they doubt it.

The bottomline is plan ahead!!!

If you not working at all and have no success yet look at other ways to sustain your lifestyle.

If you heavily depending on the government or not, you have to think about what if they decrease or do not send a check this week or month?

If you employed, how this going to effect the company financially because if they do business with the government it's going to be time to consider looking for a new job.

Sounds like you may be screwed in either direction assuming the kind of job you have (if you are working)

Fire the Politicians and let us govern ourselves.

I hope I am wrong, just went through, and still struggling with, the hemorraging of jobs in the private sector; now comes the public sectors turn.

Been predicted. Been giving all the indicators.

I've been saying for some time now, don't get too dependent on those government checks!

Greece did. That should have been our example.

And, now it may be that our turn has come.

Austerity is now knocking at our door.

Someone's got to answer it; it won't stop knocking. May as well invite it in and sit a spell. Those of us been out of work long term are very used to leaving on little. We will probably have to live on even less. Now, it's other's turn. It's rough folks. Time to pay the piper. Greece is. Now it may very well be our turn.

Again, hope I am wrong. For everyone's sakes, I hope I am very, very wrong.

From my reading nothing much will actually kick in till close to the end of the month,,,(if nothing changes)..By April that will be a very different story and things will be very noticeable all over the place ,,

i was telling my bf oh great how we are gonna land any job? it's been now 3 yrs for him unemployed. we have applied to volunteer at the library not sure how that is gonna go if any of these nonprofits have any funds to bring in any volunteers.

the manager was suppose to call us on thurs night but didnt hear from her which we found out she works 2 jobs. i havent checked out the jobs it is depressing as i dont qualify for anything out there to do....

I was just notified that because of some law in 2011, my unemployment will be cut 10%. I guess I can live with that, since I can't find a good job anywhere, only found a 2 day a week part time job, so unemployment covers the rest. Unemployment is not a way to permanently live, I barely survive, but I am grateful to have it.

I think it had something to do with that sequestration.

i agree neither is food stamps is a way to live but it is survival. my bf's mom told us how we r so used to food stamps that we need paying jobs which we already know. we do volunteer at the library which is a lot of fun but finding a paid job is not easy.

i got a job offer in my email which i deleted. i knew it was an IT staffing company wanting all of these certifications and over 5 yrs of experience which i dont have but have a degree in IT.
