I'm sorry Neil, it's funny how we think we would be perfect for that position and not get it, it's happend to me. I went through 3 phone interviews with a company last week and find out this week if they want me to fly out for a final, I feel I would be perfect for this one, I am really going to be bummed if I don't get this one.... Hang in there!!!

I would imagine that if they want you to fly out for a final interview ...it should be mostly a done deal for you,,,good luck with this,,

never a done deal...tell u what the final round of interviews is where the decision comes from...never a done deal before that decision is made....hang in there

So sorry you didn't get the position, Neil. I know the feeling. I lost out on what would have been my dream job in mid-August. I could have WALKED to work, and it would have been more money than I had ever earned - ANYwhere. I did really well, but, the position ended up going to an internal candidate.

It's tough, but, all you can do is stay positive and keep trying.

So sorry that it didn't work out, but it's been my experience that there's always a reason for it. When I don't get a position (or something else in life I thought I wanted/needed) I thank God for it because it's obvious it wasn't meant to be for reasons we may never know about.
I know it doesn't sound real comforting now, but believe me, I've been where you are so many times in the last 8 1/2 yrs of being out of work several times and it may be hard to keep getting up the strength to be positive every day, but it's the only way to really make any progress.
You have to keep active, do whatever you can to keep your skills fresh, surround yourself with encouraging people, and for goodness sakes.....do not read those careerbuilder articles about employment!! All they do is discourage a person more.
