It's screwed up... I've been on disability and have been trying to get back into the workforce:
My employment coaches say to identify as someone with a disability when asked on a form because they are not allowed to discriminate. I tend to get more responses to my application when i DONT identify as someone with a disability.
The other ways employers get around this is they have "the team" interview someone. If the team discriminates the employers tend not to be held responsible because the team made the decision.
I just don't talk about it anymore even when asked.....maybe after all this is over i may finally find work after 13 years (8 of trying but now i have a degree that DOSNT HELP with anything.)

Have you done a resume prep course? They can be a big help. Spend a lot of time with cover letters. Relate all aspects of your background and training to the stated requirements of the job, item by item. Unless you are gifted with connections and world-class talent, warm and fuzzy won't flip a prospect into a hire, or even an interview, anymore.
You can either be a success in spite of or a failure because of. It's your choice.
